I received the letter stating that they (Armstrong) are pleased to inform me that I am a lucky winner in the Customer Compensation and Appreciation Bonanza in the 2nd category. The lump sum was $10,000. I had been previously scammed by a group before and the phone number and name in the letter was the same as that one. I checked with my broker. The check for $985.50 which was enclosed has now been shredded. I wanted to deposit it and not send them any money but after reading what has happened to other people who received the same letter, I just shredded the check. They (Armstrong) are not getting any money from me and I'm not incurring any bank charges for depositing a bad check.
