After searching for a particular pair of Kenneth Cole women's sandals and not finding them elsewhere, I Googled the brand and style and found them at Rios Shoes. The web site had extensive photos of the shoes and seemed legitimate. And yes, they had the shoes in my size. I placed the order through Pay Pal and immediately received a confirmation of my order. My Pay Pal account was immediately charged. However, I found it strange that my order number was only three digits long -- much shorter than order numbers from other on-line sources. Three weeks later, the sandals had not arrived. I tried to call Rios Shoes, but there was no phone number listed. I sent an e-mail. One week, and three unreturned e-mails later, I filed a complaint with Pay Pal. The complaint was immediately upgraded to a claim. A day later, Pay Pal informed me that my item had shipped. The shipping confirmation number matched a mysterious package that I had received two weeks prior. The package was from Guangdong, China and contained a cheap, plastic, child's Hello Kitty wristband -- NOT a pair of women's shoes. I informed Pay Pal, and was told to ship the item back. Instead, I called Pay Pal, and my money has been refunded. After reading other complaints, it seems that Rios Shoes is a total scam. The customer service agent at Pay Pal said the company is aware of the situation and is investigating it. I hope that Pay Pal drops Rios Shoes as a vendor.

  • the same thing happened to my wife. I am waiting to hear from Paypal. I have told Paypal it is a waste of money to pay for tracking to return a sponge to China. I think we should ship the sponges to Paypal so they can ship the sponges back to China in one pkge. I am waiting to hear from Paypal. USPS wanted $53 UPS wanted over $100
