  • Hello- I too saw this on my bank statement. A couple of months back however I did sign up for a free credit report ( I didn't know it was going to be a monthly deal). Anyway- the company also billed me $16.95 a month, it is actually freecreditreport.com doing this to you. The number to call and cancel your "membership" is 1-877-481-6826.. Hope that helps.

  • Exactly the same thing happened to me: I signed up for a 3 day "free trial" to see what I could see. The next day I did whatever it was they said you had to do to end the free trial and not subscribe - and then, 3 months later, noticed that Experian had been billing me $16.95 or .99 per month anyway! My so-called free trial has cost me ~$50! I will try calling that 1-877 number and hope that I can cancel that way, because when I went to the bank today I discovered that there is a fee of $31 to put a block on Experian. What a low scam to announce free trials when they intend to make money by hustling you! They should be made to pay back all the money they got in this illicit manner.
