I received a call from a man with an Indian accent, claiming his name was John. He said he was with Microsoft Windows Technical Team, and they had received notifications that my computer was infected with multiple viruses. He had me go into the Filter System Logs and try to delete my error codes, which isn't possible in the first place. This is where I became suspicious. He then tried to direct me to www.thewindowssolution.com. I viewed the front page of the website, and then asked him if he could verify his identification. He gave me a number, 315-277-2288 , where he said we could verify. But, that isn't the number for the official Windows Technical support. I asked him again to give me a way to verify himself, at which point he became loud and yelled. I told him not to get loud with me, and I told him I would not longer work with him unless I could identify him as legitimate. He hung up, and we never heard from him.

The danger in this scam lies in allowing them remote access to your computer either through their "Remote Support" link on the website (thewindowssolution.com) which downloads a .exe file which I assume allows them to take control of your computer, or their viewremote.com website.
