I was hired to be a Purchasing Agent for this company by a woman named Olivia Craft (most likely fictitious). We communicated by email and cell phone. TMS sent $4800 to my credit card via click2pay (they only accept credit card or bank accounts). I was then sent an email to purchase various IPAD and IPHONE models. After seeing this credit in our credit card, I bought 6 IPAD (equivalent to $4800). They then sent prepaid USPS shipping labels which had a RUSSIA destination and I mailed them out. TMS then sent an additional $4700 to the same my credit card account. Again, after ensuring the money showed up in my credit card account, I again went out bought 6 more IPAD's. Again TMS sent prepaid shipping labels with the same destination to RUSSIA. Today, when checking my credit card account online, I learned the two credit transactions were reversed. I called the credit card and found out several important facts. First, click2pay transfers are like checks. They can "bounce" at any time after the original credit is posted. The TMS payments bounced. We called and emailed Olivia Craft but got only voice mails and no responses. We then contacted the USPS with the hopes of rescinding the shipments, but were told it was too late because they were already in transit. We called our credit card and tried to open a fraud case but were told this situation does not meet their definition of fraud because there was no unauthorized use of our credit card. We filed a fraud report with our local police department. We're still trying to see if we can get any help at this point.

We didn't realize online click2pay payments can "bounce" in 2-20 business days. Additionally, click2pay payments can be reversed 1-6 months after the date of transaction. Also, there are other ways you can be scammed. Bottom line is if it sounds to good to be true it probably is.

  • More bad news unfortunately. Olivia emails are coming from trademarketingtms.com. This domain was just registered on Jul 15, 2011. The owner is a fictitious name using a hotmail email account. Meaning the fraudulent company, trademarketingtms.com, looks like it may not have anything to do with the real TMS company, tmsgmbh.de, which seems to be based out of germany. Sheesh. A little bit of research probably would have saved us $9,300.

  • Okay, it is obvious several people were fleeced by this TMS Purchasing Agent scam. We were looking for a job and had posted a resume on a few job boards. We were then contacted by a (bogus) recruiter with a Hotmail email account. I would like to know if this pattern is also true for the other victims.

  • Some good news finally. If you have a police report for Apple products, you can contact security at Apple Inc. and request the Apple products shipped to Russia get located and possibly "bricked". Worst case, the thieves will not be able to use the Apple products any more. Best case, you maybe able to locate the Apple product and request local law enforcement to retrieve the items. Keep in mind, this group of thieves seem to be located in Russia. Good luck and please let me know if you have had any luck fighting this scam or recovering losses.
