There's a scam going around for models for the Bet Awards that is posted on craiglist. Everything about it sound too good to be true and it $2,500 compensation, flight and hotel and all did they was look my pictures plus they wanted me to pay $60 for some sorta union fee which was a big sign. Eveything about the process was not really professional and for a company like BET you would expect that. They told me to go to the site elitecastings.co that didnt seem legitimate and was my intuition that led me to believe this wasnt the real deal. I hope no one has paid for this and that these scammers are caught.

  • I'm so glad I found this post..... a few minutes ago I was offered to do some kind of campaign with a makeup line called Blacklist who is based over seas and doing a US expantion. After doing a conference call with about 6 other models and emailing in my photos "apparently" I was the lucky girl chosen. So I get a call from a guy named William Dent who says my photos are stunning and I'm hands down what the company was looking for and to start the process I would first have to register at ELITECASTINGS.CO. Elitecastings.co is supposed to be the company who would be processing all my paper work since I'm not a agency represented model anymore. With talks of budget, airfare accommodations and timing he encouraged me to register on this site immediately. He failed to mention that my registration would be $60 dollars then my card would be charged $10 every month after now I've done many contracts and campaigns with designers, artists and companiesas an independent talent and I never heard of this before.

  • I scanned for other people who might have come across this website or these people but on yahoos Q&A forum message board someone asks if elitecasting.co is the real deal and multiple people commented with positive reviews but I'm not buying it. Anyone can log on and write something nice even the scammers themselves. I know there are casting sites that require a fee that are indeed beneficial and legitimate but my gut never lies. I just went back to the site and there is, no contact info, no company description, nothin about processing paper work, no terms and condition agreements, nothing. I also called the company that processed the payments made and the payments go to independent contractors who are selling things. Another sack of bullshit I noticed was a disclaimer that says: To protect your privacy, any charges will discreetly appear as ECSuite.com *Fleming Phot on your credit card statement. That's some bullshit what legitamit business needs to be "discrete". Sorry for going on and on but I hate to have my time wasted.

  • Correction the payments go to independent contractors selling access to there websites but the site seems to be nothing but a social picture posting forum! I don't see anything about casting just possible employers. I'm on my iPad so maybe I can't see the full site but things like his annoy me..

  • I don't like to hear stories like this, but I have had a positive experience with Elite's casting site elitecasting.co. There are a lot of different industry people that utilize it. I think the person "77" got was maybe not very knowledgeable. But Elite is legit and they are very aggressive about offering refunds. You can't hold them accountable for people that abuse this resource that is outside of their company. Its mainly for networking, but some people have come to use it as away to network new talent and find those below the radar. Good luck sisters and stay positive.

  • I have done three assignments over the past two years with Elite through their site elitecasting.co. There are a lot of companies that are steering away from the strict agency structure. I did pay an initial fee of 60.00 and do the 10.00 a months. I made at least three times that total amount since I been on with my first assignment. Additionally, networking with the industry people through this site gave me the ability to negotiate my own terms and rates on contracts. So all I can say is it works for me.

  • Funny how the same people are commenting on anything regarding Elitecasting.co. chyna didn't u comment on the yahoo Q&A and there was only 2 positive reviews on that site as well "btw the whole post on yahoo has been deleted within the last 24 hours".. I can tell by Chyna's amateur profile pic that she's not a paid working model. The site is bullshit and so are Adrianna and Chyna, Ladies feel free to prove me wrong at anytime by posting your links to your sites or posting links to anything you have been featured in. I can be googled and If you are serious paid professionals you can be googled as well. Either the site is for networking and a forum for small companies, mua or designers to find new talent or it's a casting site that books models for there clients in which case the client would not get in contact directly with the model, Elitecasting.co would act as a 3rd party and claim commission on the booking. No reputable company would do both. Why loose commission on booking a model by putting the model in contact with the client directly THAT'S DUMB! Industry people? Bullshit what industry people who have you worked with or for??? I bet the person who shot Chyna's pic came from elitecasting.co and that's as good as it gets.. IM DONE!

  • Hi, I have also worked with Elitecasting, and as talent it may not be the idea situation, but it did help me land my first couple of gigs. This "77" person and "SwootyGirl" needs to get a life. Its 60.00 bucks and they do give refunds, the advertise it on their site. I had a couple girlfriends that found agents changed their mind and canceled no big deal.

  • Hi I don't like scams, and as an MUA (make up artist) I have come across a number of people who have used Elite Casting. Ladies get a life, Swootygirl you can't claim how much you know in the industry and have done, but at the same time claim "you fell for it". Why didn't you use all the knowledge you said you have now then. Third of all with the internet and the economy yes companies do double dip. But bottomline from the most part they do what they say. And also you have to look at companies you affiliate with based on your relationships and what works for you. If you got more questions I am happy to talk to you at [email protected]. (yes that's my real name)

  • I was one of the girls on that call! I am going through the same process of having to sign a contract. Like someone had posted earlier, "It sounds to good to be true". BET wouldn't contract models for their show through craigslist. They would have casting auditions in places. That website the lady told us to be a member is total BULL CRAP. First off they have no contact number. The only way you can reach them is through an email listed on their page. REAL organizations list all their numbers from all there bussiness's locations. Whoever made up Elitecasting.co, is clever because they had used the same name from the OFFICIAL modeling organization called ELITE, check out their website: elitemodel.com . The lady in the conferance call knew what she was doing all along. She tricked about 10 females into the modeling position for the BET awards show. "What goes around, comes back around". Her life and her crew will be a living hell if they continue to trick people into false jobs. That is no good. LETS SPREAD THE WORD!!!

  • Cassandramos i have a life actually preping for a fashion show with dwight eubanks from RHOA google it, we r in atlanta come join us but anyway what I see is they give refunds within the first 24hours and by the time they realize is a FLOP site they would have already lost $60-70 which could have been better spent on there career. And janet I simply answered a phone call in which at first I wasn't even positive on who they were. I do multiple casting in a week and I'm always submitting to things big and small scale so I heard them out. I didnt FALL for anything. In coming across these people and this site I want to state my opinion, what I observed and my recommendation. So deal with it cuz I will keep doing so. You don't have to like what I'm saying or agree and since it's no money out of your pocket, why do you care so much? Y would I have any questions for you or wanna email you unless your a representative working for the site? Kick rocks!

And it's funny Cassandra Ross was one of the people contacting me and there's a lot of post defending them by a Cassandra and Sandra... SMH...ima need y'all to get it together and do better.. This is hardly a horror story as far as, the industry goes but your putting a lot of effort into these post if it doesn't mean much like you say. With any business there is always going to be pros and cons, and people for and against. Really like give it a rest.

  • @Denise I don't care about who Dwight has conned or his arrest record. Ill be depositing my 3rd check written by him personally so as long as he's organizing or hosting sold out fashions shows and events at the most lavish venues with "real" industry networking oppurtunities, I'm there! Hell, I'd do an event with him for free for the exposure and networking or even just for fun. This event was no big deal I just found it funny for anyone to say 77 and I need to get life's so I felt the need to mention I was sitting in hair and makeup while conversing with you all. While your chatting on FB or Twitter I'd gladly talk about this alllll day cuz "this is my life" so we can go at this as LNG as u want.
I dont even knw why im defending myself or even telling yall about me this is not about me.. Nothing you can say about me or what Im saying is gonna change the fact that ELITECASTING.CO is bullshit. BOOHOO my disapproval of this trash site is hurting you guys so bad im sooooo sorry to be upsetting you I'm really I nice person usually but Im allergic to..... "cough" BULLSHIT!

  • I did a conference call with 3 other ladies. Received a text message from Cassandra Ross within 24 hrs stating I got hired for the job. Two days later Cassandra texted me stating that Patrick and Pam was talking about casting me in a new VH1 reality series (she left no other information). First of all, who is PATRICK, never heard of him I talk to a William Dent, not Patrick. Text message is highly unprofessional. I was told by a Pam Nelson through email who works "suppose to work for Viacom/BET" and that William Dent "works for-Digitas". I called BET Network, Viacom and Digitas who states they never ever heard of these individuals and that they were not listed in their directory. Now a Nate that works with BET production department did explain to me that there are free-lance workers out there who are gathering models that they do not usually work with to fill the front row of the show (which was not what I was told I was hired for) but he also was a bit skeptacle because he had not heard these names. I called Elite and they stated that they were the only real Elite out there and to be mindful of Scammers.

  • Ladies, I was told by my step-mother who is in the industry, that you do not pay for an agent, they get 15% of everything you make. You will have to come out of your pocket at some point for other things, but not for someone to represent you or to process "paperwork." If you have FB, go to their page search and look up castings, or use google and look up different castings. I recently got an audition off of Love 2 act, everything went legit. Also model mayhem, and elitecastingnetwork is free to make a profile. Look up different agents, print your head shots, and start a resume and start mailing it out. If you are a beginner, GOOGLE a "beginner model or acting resume sample." Be mindful of everything.

  • Fake internet company claiming to get talent a SAG voucher by signing up for castingcentral.info or elitecasting.co (same exact website) through basic2basic.info to collect money from people. They claim that they are offering some type of commercial opportunity but their address and phone number does not lead to an actual business and the people involved have no proof of identity. If you look on their site in Testimonials under LOGIN, the administrator responds with the following statement to the people who have already signed up:

    Administrator
You may want to give those individuals a call. We work with a number of different advertising companies, productions companies and studios for acting/modeling talent. So we could not answer that question specifically on this board.

    Marie22
I emailed Kimberly Hudson, she never replied. I called James Pierson "the moderator", phone does Not work. And supposedly shooting is March 22nd for the Nike Commercial. Does anybody know what's going on? Cause I never received no paper work or details. Do Not Delete My Status.

If you scroll and read further, you will see everyone getting excited about the same Ciroc or Nike project.

Back 2 Basic is a self created website with own written code and these are the people behind the scam. Google the address, do your research, they do not exist!!
