I've been an American Express platinum member for over 5 years and I can not believe that they would try and scam me like what I am about to tell you. Late last year, I logged into my American Express account portal and saw a promotion to view my credit score (all 3) for free for 30 days and then $14.99 a month after that. The program is called American Express Credit Secure I thought, well it is American Express and it does sound like a good deal and not a rip off.

Signing up was easy, it took a few clicks. The first month was free, no charge as expected and then the weird things started happening. In January, I started noticing that I was getting a weird charge from American Express Credit Secure for $21.99 and then the VERY next day for $22.99. I immediately called American Express and asked them what the deal was, after waiting for 30 minutes on hold, they finally told me that it was a mistake and that they would credit me back both charges. Well the very next month, to my surprise, I got charged AGAIN, twice. I filed a charge back form and to my surprise, it got denied 3 weeks later. They gave me an excuse that I agreed to their terms and conditions blah blah blah. Never in my right mind would I sign up to a Credit Score service if I knew it would cost me $45 a month. What a rip off.

I am heated, I cannot get this off my bill and now it is June and they have scammed me for over $200 and they won't do anything about it and they keep on charging me. I cannot stop the service.

Is somebody else getting scammed as well? I want to start a class action against against American Express. This is a total SCAM.

I have submitted my credit card statement for evidence.

  • I know it's a few months later but yes, this has bee happening to me as well. Not in charges that expensive, but I have been charged twice in a month. I'm sure there are probably more people who have had this happen.
