  • I thank God that you posted this! I was in deep prayer for revelation because I was also asked to send him money. I was given the EXACT SAME STORY. (Stuck in Canada, need money for customs,etc...) I googled this Jimmy Couson person after receiving a request from John to send money to him and this scam page came up. Thank you so much. I didn't fall into his trap of lies, but was on my way fast! Thank you Faithliftedme. I am praying for you. I know we are common sense women, but when someone would stoop to the level of pretending to be Godly.... Well, God says "Vengeance is mine, I will repay. I have no doubt that he will get exactly what he deserves. LADIES BEWARE!!! He's still out there.

  • Garry James also tried to scam me with the same story, only saying his 10 yr old son's name is "Clarence". Please see "Speeddate" complaint brought up by searching "Deutschmark Mont-Rose". He never would own up to the scam but claims "someone" is "very smart" and using his name and also that there are thousands of workers in the oil spill rememdiation business. Any pertinent information that further identifies him as a scammer would be appreciated. He used 011-447-0240106020 as international number. He gathers information about you by asking you to respond to his questionnaires as a fun game of "getting to know you". I think this is how he keeps all of his pursuit details organized. He used [email protected] as an email. Thank you.

  • I'm a Christian man on ChristianMingle! Am I ugly? I don't know. Perhaps. I never claimed I'd be doing GQ cover shoots. There are scammers on most all of the "matchmaking" websites. ChristianMingle is no exception. There's no vetting process other than to ask people to declare that they are Christian. Other than that, there's nothing they can do. Anybody can lie about being Christian. Always be careful whom you give your personal information to, and if they start asking for money, well, I shouldn't have to tell you what to do in that case.

  • I was on that site, but as an unpaid trial member. Nothing gets to you unless you sign up and give them money. I don't like "tease promotions", they just always seem shady to me, so I refused to "join", just on principle. They tell you that so and so has messaged you, but you can't even find out that person's age, for example. If it seems "fishy", even a tiny bit, I just move on.

  • Jill, all I can say is "ditto"....only he used the email '[email protected]'. EVERYTHING you mentioned is identical, down to the $$, except he had just moved to Lexington, SC. Beware ladies, he leads you to believe he is a 'good Christian man' looking for the woman 'God selects for him'. If something is too good to be true, don't believe it! I'm not sure how Christian Mingle could remedy this or prevent it from happening, but it's sad when a seemingly 'faith based' site is used to bait and swindle. He's good at what he does, which is a shame....makes you wonder how many women he's scammed. I have complete faith that he will get what's coming to him....not by me, but by my God.

  • I appreciate you "being frank", Frank. Are you talking about getting off Scambook or off Christian Mingle? I do attend church regularly and pray to God all the time. I did not use Christian Mingle after this happened. BTW, what are you doing on Scambook? Just looking for people to use your charm on? Geeze!

  • Hope, thank you so much for posting this! The SAME GUY tried this on me on OurTime.com. I already had my suspicions he wasn't genuine and had started to research him online and found this. He was days away from "going to Mexico," and though he wouldn't have gotten a dime from me it was good to know so I didn't waste any more time on him.

  • I can only tell you his name is Anthony Basinas. He claimed he was from Cambridge Ma. After he revealed his undying love for me, he conned me into sending him some money to mylasia. He has used Duke Harris as his contact. He claimed he had no money money to come home and that he had to pay taxes 1st. I was so naive. I can only say I will never join another dating site ever again.
