Same deal, moved to Spain for his "work" and left the vehicle in Thunder Bay.
I had the same problem with this guy he had a ford focus listed for $2500 and I got the exact same email. I told him that I am fraud too and I do this for leaving (as a joke) he never replied. haha
thanks
I to got the same story from Shane Kellar a few weeks ago for a Mazda Tribute that was dirt cheap. After reading his reply e-mail and he had asked for 1/2 the money through e-bay motors, i took the liberty and searched "Shane Kellar" on Google. I found another post with the "word for word" email.
I did reply to him after finding this out and made I lame excuses about Western Union and how ebays preferred method of payment is Pay Pal. He had excuses for everything, I continue to play with him and waste his time, hopefully protecting another innocent victim.
I have made a gmail account with a different name for my own safety, I have sent him to the Western Union 3 times with an invalid MTCN # to waste his time, he gets quite irrate, as he also is "duane Harwell" from ebay motors as well.
One thing I beleive I have identified that he is in the Seattle, Washington area .... I have read other compaints on this guy, and that is where he seems to be situated.
The unfortunate part is these scammers are getting smart, and have all the documents to make it seem real, first rule is.
If it seems to good to be true, it probally is.
Never ever send any unknown person money by Western Union or any other wire transfer company. As Once it's sent, its gone for good.
Sincerely
Faye Kinnit (fake name)
"Hi
The vehicle is still available for sale, price as stated in the ad $5000.It's in perfect working order, no wear and tear, no scratches, it wasn't involved in any accidents.I moved to Spain with my work but I left the vehicle at a shipping company in Thunder Bay, Ontario. All shipping costs and insurance during transportation are included in the price, I won a promotion(1 free shipping). You will also receive all necessary documents in order to finalize the purchase.Email me back if you're interested and have further questions."
I googled his name and found your post.
Thanks again.
I sincerely thank you for sharing your very unfortunate experience here. Just today, I was in contact with this same Shane, same details (Spain, Thunder Bay, EBay, Return Policy, etc.), except the vehicle was a 2003 Sienna. The details on this vehicle were also very enticing. I was considering having him send it my way, and for me to commit the deposit. But I googled his name and found your post. I really hope you can claim back your funds. I thought Ebay was a trustworthy name. This will allow me to second guess next time, why such a good vehicle is not sold for a better price through more conventional means. This may not mean much now, but my sincere gratitude to you for helping me to avoid this guy's trap. Best wishes to you.
