    On 7/29/2013 8:21 AM PST, I dialed (800) 881-9495 to contact Public Yellow Pages and spoke to Gemma, customer service representativewho stated that she wrote down all my contact information and will pass it along to the appropriate dept. I also sent a detailed email to [email protected] fully informing Public Yellow Pages of their public business profile and posted consumer complaints on Scambook. I left all of my direct contact information if Public Yellow Pages has any questions or interest in resolving their complaints.

  • It is a scam. I received the same invoice on October 1. I tried emailing the company and they called saying I must pay the debt and they have recording of me approving it. I remember them calling months ago saying I need to confirm so my boss could cancel his ad and I answered yes/no questions about cancellation and these people actually change the recording so it is yes/no of your accepting charges for ad!! I did research and found their website uspublicyp.com is same as onlinepublicyp.com which has many, many, many complaints on here and on the BBB site. And the same amounts are being requested $599.00 (initial amount they said), $627.39 and $676.80 after "interest" even though the first invoice they send is months after the so called initial billing. Everything I found shows that they cannot do anything to you they will threaten lawsuits etc. but they are so known to be scam artists and have been in trouble under other fake company names that they will not pursue anything beyond threats. Report them to BBB, FTC and attorney general so there is awareness for others of this new fake company name they are trying this under.

  • I got an invoice with the same address for about the same amount and around the same date. I called and they swore to its validity. They even played a phone recording of me agreeing to the invoice, which I never would've done because I'm broke and the business in question hasn't been in business in years. They said it will sell it to collections for $499 or I could settle it for that amount. Of course I said no way and that I believed the recording was doctored. I'm not too worried about it because I haven't paid anything nor will I pay. Just wondering if anyone has heard from a 3rd party collection agency about their invoice(s).

  • This is exactly what happened to me. It sounds like the recording is doctored and from a recording that I did with another company. I got the whole spiel about it going to collections too. I got late charges and never got the first three "invoices". She said if I took care of it right now she would give me a discount of $50. Thank God I didn't give them a credit card.

  • Same exact scenario here in Florida. Received several calls about the cancellation. I kept telling them I never ordered it and would hang up on them, but they finally got someone in my office to answer their questions and they now have a "pieced-together" audio tape of us agreeing to pay for this. Today, 5 months later, I have received the bill in the mail for $599.99 + fees = $676.81.

    Just checked their web page and our company is not even listed! I will definitely file a complaint with the State Attorney and I am not paying this ridiculous invoice!

  • Ditto here in florida. Same MO. "We have someone in your office who said "yes" and that constitutes a legal contract". I have filed complaints with the State Attorney in Florida and City of New York Consumer protection. Now that the invoice has come in the mail, I think a call to the postal inspectors may be in order.

  • I got the same thing, funny is they only let you hear about you saying the yes part but not the entire conversation. They told me that we owe them and in order to get a copy of an invoice i have to say yes to receive invoice, now they are telling me that I purchased it when I said yes to the invoice. I told them purchasing and getting a copy of an invoice is two separate matters esp I am not in purchasing therefore not authorize to purchase anything. I filed a complaint with the FTC, please do the same to stop this people! I think they are the same company that the FTC filed a lawsuit last year, they just changed the name to Public Yellow Pages.

  • I just hope that you do not get scammed from Public Yellow Pages. They tried to scare us by saying that we would be given to a collections agency if we did not pay, on the hook for $667(w/interest,admin fees). I complained and said we never had an invoice and what did this service provide? The rep played back voice recording but it is clearly a deceptive way to do business. We will not be paying, and make sure you don't either. Be sure you also tell BBB.

  • I had the same issue with the Public Yellow Pages. I told the operator I hope you sleep good at night you f@#king scam artist. He asked me what has changed from 5 minutes ago when I told him to call corporate and that they would pay the bill. I told him I found them on scambook.com and we wouldn't be paying the bill. after cussing at him for three minutes he tried to lower the bill to $100.00 but I asked him how he sleeps at night and feeds him kids with the scammed money. He hung up on me and I haven't heard anything from collections.

  • Hey Mark...thanks for the heads-up about this guy Kevin. I'm having the same trouble with the same Public Pages from Bentonville, AZ, with the same MF'er Kevin wanting just under $1000 from me. Got the 1st call yesterday 9/11 for online advertising I didn't order. Played back the recording and just hung up on him. Was suckered in last year about the same time for a lesser amount but paid anyway. Not this time!! Wasn't sure if they could ruin my credit. Last laugh's on me!! I'll tell him to go where the sun don't shine just for you, sir.
