  • I'm so sorry to hear you've had to join this group of victims of the greenteky.com scam.

In case you haven't read my comments to all the other folks who've posted here, I will once again offer the following advice (although none of these suggestions is likely to recover your losses):

Be sure to file reports with all of the following:
    1) Amazon (use feedback page to email about fraudulent use of gift card, insist on speaking with someone also)
    2) IC3 (partnership between the FBI, the National White Collar Crime Center and the Bureau of Justice Assistance)
    3) the Federal Trade Commission
    4) your state Attorney General's office
    5) the local police department (if you live in a large-ish city)

Even if we can't get our money back, we can try to initiate an investigation that will locate and prosecute the real owner(s) of the business.

  • No, there's phone number or real address, and no real registrant for the domain name.

Unfortunately, Amazon cannot refund a gift card, but please file a report with them anyway, because they can investigate the use of the cards we all provided. Also report to IC3 (the FBI) on their website, and to the Federal Trade Commission.

We may not get our money back, but we might be able to put a stop to this particular fraud. I'm sure they were planning on making more than $4,000 off their scam!

  • I'm afraid my efforts to report them may have resulted in their losing the Merchant Circle page full of "positive reviews" and their web host: Netelligent. But at least DO file a complaint with Amazon (so that they know, even though they won't refund your gift card), and also with IC3 (the FBI) and the Federal Trade Commission.

Even if we still lose out financially, if they trace the actual owner they may be able to stop them.

  • At least report them to Amazon (even though they can't refund your gift certificate, they can trace who used it), IC3 (the FBI) and to the Federal Trade Commission. Since they've already taken down their site, we're probably out of luck tracing the real owner, but at least no one else will get scammed. I'm sure they'd planned to make more than $4,000.

  • Amazon does not accept accountability for gift cards after they've been sent to someone. Their policy is: "per our terms and conditions, gift card claim codes are transferable and once the claim code has been given to someone, the gift card is considered theirs."

  • "trustedreviews", if you would provide some legitimate information other than "case closed." based on your review...I'm sorry but there wasn't anything on this company that would support your findings. Ed8r has now confirmed the same experience and still no product delivery or resolution. personally i am still waiting for an inquiry from greenteky as to why I cancelled my purchase...a legit company with professional customer service would follow up on cancellations and would at least try to follow up with unsatified customers. doubt keep on adding on. Only time will tell. "XxStytchxX" I sincerley hope that your purchase goes well. Good luck and hope to here it goes well. If this is a new and legit company it seems to be off to rough start.

  • I believe that the reviewer called "trustedreviews" is simply a shill for the same fraudulent Internet business. Unfortunately I did not call Amazon soon enough for them to cancel my gift card, as "ragonz37" reported above. Instead, I was foolishly scammed out of my $503 payment for a Panasonic TV that never arrived.
