Thanks to this website that she saved herself from loosing $200 from these people. They are total scam!
uShip.com is an online marketplace. The people you communicated with are scam artists. If you paid via wire transfer service, it is not likely you will get your money back, but you should contact whatever company you used to send payment as well as the authorities and the website where you found the puppy listing. Best of luck.
I'm so sorry to hear that you fell victim to this scam. This person is not affiliated with uShip in any way - they impersonated a uShip employee and misrepresented the way our site works in order to gain your trust.
I am assuming you found this puppy on a pet listing classified site. If that's the case, then they probably also asked for payment via Western Union, Money Gram, or some other wire transfer service. We do not allow our site member to request money via these methods due to the high rate of fraud associated with them. Also, uShip is an online marketplace, not a pet transport service. Lastly, all communication from true uShip employees come from the '@uship.com' domain. I can guarantee you didn't receive any communication from that domain.
If you have any questions about how the site works, feel free to contact us at [email protected].
We are extremely sorry to hear that you have fallen victim to one of these scams. In an effort to prevent future occurrences of this fraud, we strongly encourage you to contact the online classified site where the ad was found as well as the Internet Crime Complaint Center (www.ic3.gov) to report this fraud. If you’d like to read more about this particular type of scam, review uShip’s scam alerts blog here: www.ushipscams.com
In the future, NEVER use Western Union or wire transfer to people you don't know or anyone in Africa - it is ALWAYS a scam. A small amount of research and some common sense would have prevented this in the first place.
I'm sorry to hear that an individual or group of people fooled you into believing they were uShip.com. I believe you came across a scam where our company was impersonated to gain your trust. uShip.com is a online shipping marketplace where those who need something shipped can find a provider who can offer transport services.
uShip is not a transporter and does not sell, purchase or hold any items. We are simply an online platform that helps connect shippers with service providers.
I encourage you to report the ad to the site where you found these people as fraudulent.
