  • Paul - I did try to get my $70.00 refunded through the BBB of Washington, D.C. (which covers the area of the Oracle Travel Home Office). Problem is, Oracle paperwork does state that if you fill out and send in ANY of the paperwork in the packet that follows the $70 Registration, they "got 'cha"! I did this--and then had second thoughts (and learned more after more research online)--and asked that it be rescinded. Too bad, Oracle said, you filled out the paperwork and they require that all such paperwork be returned to them in ORIGINAL (not filled out) condition along with a copy of the check showing they had cashed it. I've since read several complaints where folks have done exactly that--and Oracle THEN claimed they never received it! If you plan to do this, send it Registered Mail, Return Receipt Requested. I still maintain that Oracle only intends to fulfill the travel agreement as a last resort - and they make it very difficult throughout the process so that most folks will just give up. There should be a "cooling-off" period of 2 weeks to a month where the consumer can "opt out" and have their money refunded. This is the case in most other purchasing agreements. If there is a Class Action on this, count me in. In the meantime, you're right, there is no "free lunch".

  • This is an update to a comment and experience with Oracle. Low and behold I get my travel package in the mail after receving the upgrade offer. I am 100% positive this is a scam. I couldn't believe what I was seeing and reading. First of all you don't get two free as claimed airline tickets. You are offered a compainon certificate, which has so many stipulations, you won't even want to bother using it. To get your certificate activated you have to send in 25.00 processing fee. Next, you have a certificate for saving up to 50% off of a car rental discount membership. To get this activated you have to send 10.00 for this one. Your special gift card for 50.00 of your choice of hotel or resturant will cost you 9.95. The big prize of the promised trip is the most laughable. You can't go wherever you want as they led you to believe. You have to go to one of their resorts and also pay and addtional 50.00 to guarantee your reservation,of course this is refunable with a lot of red tape. If you have children each child will cost you a fee. I lost 70.00 but like another person said, I am getting off this train now. This promotion is definately a money train. They make it so difficult for you, with all the stipulations, in hopes that you will say to "H" with it and move on.

  • I attended the airline travel promotion on April 5, 2013 in a city in Maryland. I never attend these kinds of promotions, because they usally invlove high pressure sales tatics. Nevertheless, I attended and of course turned down the vacation package of 8000 which eventually when I was about to leave go down to 1200. I got my voucher and mailed it in with my 70.00. Of course the check was cashed within days. I recieved a letter stating due to the high demand of the promotion, I was being offered an upgrade for a mere $25.00. All I had to do is choose the upgrade, which by the way had less restrictions. The tricky part is you have to mail or fax back your upgrade within seven days. I faxed mine back on the 7th day and of course you know the ending of this story! I have not heard hide nor hair from Oracle and don't expect too. I am sure they are going to send me a rejection notice stating I failed to meet the deadline or some other foolishness. I wanted to test these types of promotions and Yes, they are scams in my book. Having lost 70.00 is not great, but at least I know to never respond to something that is too good to be true. Beware!

  • I went to the promotion. Although the information seemed worthwhile, they presenter was rude to an audience member after she was rattling papers during his presentation. I didn't purchase the timeshare but I did get the VOUCHER for free hotel, $50 dining card, and 2 round trip tickets. You have to then mail in $70 to activate the voucher within 15 days of getting the voucher. So I mailed in the $70. Today I got a letter in the mail telling me about the 10 restrictions there are for my Class C Promotion and if I wanted to trade it in for $45 more for a Class A Promotion. Restrictions on the Class C are ridiculous and Class A are great. I'm ready to get off this train taking a hit for only $70. Or maybe I'll roll another hand and send in the $45 for the upgrade. Don't know but they gave me 7 days to decide or I'll lose the original $70 as well. There's no telephone number on the letter I received by the way.
