When you create a community forum like Scambook.com, where consumers gather to share their experiences, voice their complaints, and seek help, certain people, specifically those on the receiving end of consumer complaints, won’t be happy about it. We knew this when we started Scambook.com, and even in the short amount of time Scambook has been up and running, we have seen it in action. We are contacted on a regular basis by the people and companies consumers complain about. Some are polite and professional, while some are angry and hostile. However, across the board they all want the same thing: take down the complaints.

Yet, every time, we say no. Our job is not to stifle the voice of the people, or pass judgment on which complaint has the more merit. This is simply not our decision and not our place. We inform the company or individual asking for a take-down that they can create an account and comment on the relevant complaints to explain their side of the story, try to help resolve the complaint, or correct factual inaccuracies. In fact, we strongly encourage them to participate in the dialogue as it makes the Scambook community more helpful and complete. And many companies take us up on that offer and provide productive comments. However, others take a more aggressive route and send angry emails, “cease and desist” letters, and generally threaten Scambook with legal action. This course of action is unacceptable to us as we are acting within the bounds of the law and are in fact protected by a federal statute designed for just such a purpose.

Recently, one such company contacted us and decided to threatened our very jobs if we did not pull several complaints immediately. This was accompanied by profane statements and several other threats, including taking legal action. Well, instead of succumbing to the ultimatums, we decided to take action and file our own lawsuit seeking a declaratory judgment from a federal court saying that we are not required to remove posts and are immune from liability under federal law. You can read our complaint below. While, we aren’t the judge and jury of whether your complaints are right or wrong, we will always fight for your right to share and speak your mind, and our right to give you place to do it.

We won’t be intimated by threats or big corporations, and we won’t be pushed around. We may be the new kid not the block, but we’re here to stay, and your complaint is always welcome on our boards, we’ll make sure of it.

I have been scammed by a company in Phoenix Arizona, name: E Merchant Middleman, at the beginning of August 2012, they promised me if I join them to win a lot of money by buying Leads and they will make my money work for me and for them. I paid them $30,000. 00. Eric Cooper contacted me first , then Frank Goodman, then Chris Buckingham, and later Christina Nelson, but by the end of 2012 they stopped and even changed their phone number.
Could anybody help me to get their Phone Number? Please.

Im glad that we have site, such as scambook. These people are taking people money on one of the worlds best international devices, the computer. The federal government go for people who illegally mislead people out of money with false promises, that they won something. I appreciate scambook and scambook followers for there feedback and dedication towards taking these people down. Once these people( scammers) did not honor their agreement then the persons money should have been returned. So! yes bring it on. Because the person or persons who tries to take them to court is the people we been trying to reach. So yes! We will see you in court scammers. Im one of the Victoms

thru scam deals seen online-In today’s economy, with so many many people out of a job, they are searching for a way to earn money in order to support themselves and their family & it is sickening that there are so many “blood sucking leeches” that are willing to use scams in order to benefit themselves while screwing the general public. I think 99.9 percent of the offers to help someone make money online are scammers. They only want the money. They make it difficult to impossible to communicate with them when something is wrong. Waiting for two or three days before one can even expect a response is unacceptable. They should be expecting to be sued. Wish I could sue each one who has scammed me! Can’t afford an attorney; the scammers have my money.

Continue the work! We are with you.

I love this site & love getting the emails to let me know about scams. Some I never heard of while others may be more common. Anybody who’s ready to take legal action because they don’t like the feedback must know they’re doing something wrong, otherwise they should want to improve on the situation. Keep up the good work. Both me and my site support you!

I think you’re doing a great job. I just sent your website to a attorney in san francisco, who is filing a class action lawsuit against DIRECTV, and it will be a wopper . It should run into many millions, they only clipped me for $481.76,but most people have been hammered for 6 to 8 hundred dollars. I have been clipped a number of times , but never more than $125.00 dollars. Another one to watch is the penny auctions, they’re popping up all over. I am a disabled veteran and this stuff really hurts bad, and not a one of them gives a damn.Good luck and i’m trying to do as much as possible, to get the word out. thanks

I never realized the dealings you as a company have to go through just to say what is true. The people are finally fed up with the scamming ways of these people (not just this guy either) who keep ripping people off of their hard earned money while trying to make life better. People are starting to fight back but its hard because these companies have lawyers and threats and what do we have WELL NOW WE HAVE YOU I can not thank you enough for standing up to these people and telling them like it really is. Enough of the bulling, when you deal with people honestly this would never happen and this site would never be needed (sorry guys) Thank you again for standing up for the little guy or gal in my case.

You are doing a wonderful job by helping people out who have been the recipient of dishonest dealings, fraud and scams. We need a place where we can post our complaints so that maybe some of these companies will clean up their act. Hope they do not sue you as they are probably full of a lot of hot air and are guilty of misdeeds and that is why they are so angry.

It should be expected that scammers will try to shut down anyone who comes between them and their profits, and that seems to be you guys at this time. I have absolutely no doubt that you’ll win this case and that will send a message out to the rest of these jerks that there are people who will stand up for what’s right! I wrote you and the next day the company refunded my money that was taken in a scam. I don’t think it was you, but the fact that I posted with you, that sent them running, but I seriously thank you. It wasn’t a lot of money, but it was enouh to hurt! So Keep Up the Good work!!!!

I hate the fact that I was ripped off by a copied e-bay page, $2000 is an extreme loss to me, but I guess the more vulnerable a person is, the more likely they are to be scammed. I feel so stupid and violated. I really need my money back. FBI has been notified and my local police department seemed very interested in helping and they found out the scammers were centered in Melbourne Australia, a place I always wanted to visit but now I despise Austrailians.

Hi Traci, So sorry you have had a problem but please do not despise all Aussies, we are NOT all tarred with same brush! I am an Aussie, (South Australian) and I have been scammed by an American, but that does not make me despise all Americans. I know of an Aussie police officer who was also scammed through a Melbourne ebay person, all though by a much lesser amount! I do hope Scambook can help many people get their money back including both of us.

The scam artists prefer to do their dirty work in the dark. It is like a colony of rats. If anyone shines a light on them, they are prone to attack. Scam victims feel powerless.

Now, victims have power because ScamBook operates in the light and exposes illegal activity.

Somebody tries to scam me at least every 2 weeks. If I had not checked out on the computer what they were doing, I may have been scammed. If their business is legitamate, they wouldn’t want to sue you they would be thanking you. Scammer use big business names like Publishers Clearing House, Donald Trump Lottery, Bank of America Bank, these are just a few they have used on me.

RIGHT ON Scambook!! You ROCK! I’m sorry for the extra work and costs this has brought you but, without you, we would have no one to stand up for us. We would not be able to fight them, and because of the cost, most of us would end up kissing our hard-earned dollars goodbye!

FYI, update from Bidrach-the Delaware BBB sent them my complaint. The apologized and promised, on two occasions, to refund my money within 7 to 10 business days. So 20 days later, did I have my money back??? NO. I hope these guys get nailed! I need that money badly…

    Thanks again Scambook!

Thanks to scambook people are able to check the names of Companies and people before they can get scammed by them. Why don’t those companies reply to our individual complaints on scambook rather than attacking scambook itself. If any of our complaints are contrary to their policy then they should fire the ones scamming us otherwise why not simply return our money for goods never received like a legitimate company would do. Way to go SCAMBOOK!!!

IF SCAMBOOK HAS TO SUE THEM FOR WHAT EVER REASON………..I’M AM A 100% BEHIND THEM.
THE LORD SAID, WHAT EVER MAN SOWS, THAT SHALL HE RIP. THEY NEED TO HARVEST WHAT THEY PLANTED.
