I feel really stupid. I mean I am really stupid? For the past few days i feel down and out with a cold that now in the 4th day has my voice gone and almost mute. The septic system was packed and was not sure why it was overflowing into the bathtub and shower so we got the name of a company called Titan Plumbing. Two guys came out the next day and looked at the problem. I showed them where the septic tank lid was buried and they told me they were going to build it up to the surface and put a concrete cap over it in the lawn and it would cost me $1200 down and $1200 when finished but that was not going to be for the next day. So the next day two trucks arrive and there are three of them there and they work for about 2 hours quickly digging out no more than 6 cubic yards of dirt to get to the septic tank lid and they pump it out. and maybe clean it. It was not hard to find and no big deal. So i go to inspect what they did and they did not build it up to the surface as he said they would but just put all the mud back over the old lid though they said they took it out and buried a new one because the old one was broken. Do you think i got over charged paying $2400 just to have a 1000 gallon septic tank pumped out? The last time we did it there was some stupid multnomah county permit form requirement that cost money for no reason. This time there was no permit fee or fee to dump the sewage as it was. Do you think I was grossly over charged for the work done? How stupid am I? I felt like i was was going to pass out the two days this happened which helps explain it. the original thing i signed was for a total of $2400 with a math error that said $1300 down and $1300 at completion and it did not itemize what he said they were going to do. I do give them credit for doing the job but I bet if I had been a 90 years old and demented they would have given me a bill of $45000 to do 2 hours of work. Titan Plumbing has a fancy website but they are not to be trusted. Very Unprofessional in not even doing what they promise for maybe three times what it should have cost just to dig out 6 cubic feet of soil and pump out a septic system and interior house pipes. The sad thing is an outfit like this has a super rating on Angie's List. Maybe I am wrong and all the plumbers charge for this service at rates like these less than 20 miles outside of the city limits?
