My husband and I purchased Kenmore 3 door refrigerator. Now it now longer works. I called Sears and was on the phone for several hours trying to find someone to talk to concerning my problem. When I finally reached someone, she told me that since I did not purchase the extended warrranty there was nothing they could do. I told her, " I would think a refrigerator should last longer than 5ive years. " She replied "that we don't make things like we use to. Products do not last as long as they did 20 years ago. You should always get an extended warranty."
Here is my problem:
On 11/18/2011 a repairman came out to look at the problem (not a Sears guy). This is what he stated: Reriferator is making noise from freezer. Found ice build up around fan blade and motor. The upper wall of the freezer is separated and collecting condensation that is dripping down onto the motor and fan blade and freezing and the fan ends up striking ice, making noise. Basically the wall is falling apart from poor manufacturing and I don't see any solution because it molded plastic that can't be removed or replaced. I have defrosed the ice causing problems and it should hold up until it rebuilds at a later date.
After that I had it moved to the garage.
The lady I spoke to at Sears said I needed to have one of their repairmen come out to look at it. I ask how much it would cost. She said between $75 and $85. I chose not to pay to have someone come out to tell me the samething that I already knew.
I feel they need to send someone out free of charge and make good on my refrigerator.
I am very disappointed with my Kenmore
