Recently when arbitrating with Angie's List and a horrendous contractor that they advertised on their site as a 'special', we learned that $1000 of the money went directly into Angie's List's coffers. In other words, the vendors advertised on Angie's List are giving kickbacks to Angie's List in order to advertise and be listed as a preferred vendor. Angie's List is now official useless.
