Complaint 7720 Details

I received an unsolicited email about bidrack, was curious about its claims of auctions where one could win with 90% savings, followed through on registering FOR FREE out of curiousity, and like many others I have just read about, received a screen that required credit card information with NO indication that I would be automatically charged. I, like others, saw a message that indicated the credit card info was needed only IF I decided to bid.
After registering, I looked around, got a feel for how it worked (where you actually lose money if you bid but don't win, which would explain how it is possible to win at such low prices--Bidrack receives far more than just the winning price, it receives the accumulated value of all the losing bids, potentially much more than a retail price for the item), decided it wasn't for me, and exited the site. Then, I discovered several weeks later that my credit card was charged $75.00
When I called to complain, I was told that it was non-refundable, and the price was clearly marked on the website that I had signed up on. I know it wasn't, it was either hidden in fine print, or not there at all, as I never knowingly would have paid any money.
