I have used the same water filter for years, made by the company NSA. I am very happy the taste and quality of the water from the filter. A man called my home on June 15, 2011 from USA Filtration and told me my water filter needs to be replaced. I told him my water filter is from NSA and he told me NSA is out of business and I can only get a replacement filter from USA Filtration. When I asked what happened to NSA, he told me they closed down 3 years ago (I have not purchased a new filter in 4 years) He told me the filter is exactly the same and would work fine. So I agreed to the new filter and gave the man my credit card and he told me I would be getting the filter UPS in about 5 days.
Two days later I get a call from NSA Warranty Replacement Center saying that their records show I need a new filter replacement. They told me they are very much in business and are still selling the water filters. I was so upset. I immediately called USA Filtration and spoke to the same man again, Dave, and told him I got a call from NSA about my filter. He stumbled and did not know what to say. I told him I dont want the filter anymore and I want my credit card refunded. He told me it would be hard to refund my credit card since he already charged it. WHAT KIND OF COMPANY LIES AND THEN REFUSES TO GIVE YOU YOUR MONEY BACK BECAUSE ITS TOO DIFFICULT?!?! Needless to say I freaked out. I demanded my money back. After arguing with him for about 20mins he agreed to give me my money back.
This is obviously a scam and I am so disgusted that I fell for it.

Mary I used to sell the NSA product in WNY from 88 to 90 then they changed the inside 5 micron screen to a pad, that being said, back in 1990 NY passed a state law requiring 3rd party verification on the claims and removal of water filters. The NSA filter is 1. not certified, 2. just a chlorine taste & odor filter for only about a year then it breaks down - letting chlorine thru after a year, 3. should Never be in a home for more than 18 months as they will channel and dump contaminants back into the water, thereby making the water going thru the filter Worse than if you drank the unfiltered.
As I said I sold the filters for 3 years and was always asked what else did the filter remove. they dont do anything else like Chemicals, VOC's, Lead, Cysts & Parasites, Asbestos, Turbidity, small Particulates that can harm people, they are not even a 5 micron filter anymore, like they used to be. I always checked out the competition because I was using the filter myself. I came across the Everpure product and have been selling/using this system for 22 years. With 25 years in the water biz I have seen many products, the best I see and taste is the Everpure, my 900 + customers, the 3,000+ Commercial, Industrial, Marine,Food Service, Aviation, customers all choose Everpure.
Companies like you r bottled water makers, Deer Park, Poland Spring, Great Bear, Perrier, Vermont Pure, Tops, and Wegmans, Others like Both Coke & Pepsi, Burgur King, McDonalds, Wendy's, Hardees, Arby's US Navy, Over 100 Airlines, 7 Elevens, general Cinemas, etc All use Everpure and have for years. Everpure has been in the water business since 1933. Please Do your OWN research. NSA is a Basic filter, Not even as good as a Brita < at least the brita removes 80% of the Lead! and the Brita should be changed every 4 weeks > according to Consumer Reports! -
