I was trying to use Western Union Speedpay to pay the gas bill which has the number 866-316-3356 which is in small print on the bill. I dialed 888-316-3356 and was immediately asked what I was going to pay with. I gave my debit card info including the 3 digits on the back then realized I had misdialed the number. I canceled the card immediately so no charges went through. It sounded like a busy call center. I suspect they look for numbers like this knowing that someone could easily mistake an 6 for an 8 and take advantage.
