As I was looking for a job over the summer, I applied to become a mystery shopper to make a little extra cash for gas and groceries. However, I was sent an email detailing that I will receive a check and that I should take it to my bank and cash it and then wire to a person that I don't know and they would send me $200 for providing this service (and answering questions about Western Union's service to me, the customer). Luckily, a Western Union representative called me and warned me that this is a scam and they were able to change the Money Control Number so that this company would not get it. However, they kept calling me very late at night wondering when the money would be wired and they also email me again with new instructions of how to wire the money in two different wires since the place I wired it was not the Western Union service I was suppose to evaluate. I became suspicious immediately and responded to the company that "my internet service is down and I can't do anything". The following day I receive a text about why I didn't send the wire and so I texted back tellling them that "Western Union has caught on to your scam and I'm returning the money back to the bank. Do not contact me anymore". Since my reply via text message, I've not received any calls or emails from them.
