I gave information (current address, cell phone number, email address) to a Mystery Shopper company. After getting approved I asked for more information to verify their company. They gave me a number to call, which I did. I only got an answering machine, so I left a message and got no call back. Due to this and the blatant lack of any other proof, I emailed the company telling them I would not work for them and reported them as a phishing scam. I sent two or three emails and finally unsubscribed. I continue to get emails but simply use my toolbar to report them as a phishing scam. Today I got a check for $1870. I do not want to cash this check, in fact, I figure I should tear it up and return to sender the entire package. Not sure what else to do other than to tera everything up (the one page instructions and the check.)
