While vacationing in Puerto Vallarta just before Christmas, 2011, we opted to go to a timeshare presentation at the Mango. The presentation included a viewing of an existing high-rise residential complex in downtown Puerto Vallarta. We bought into the concept of selling an existing timeshare at a value greater than the offer being made by the World Luxury Destinations agent. After we got home and received additional correspondence, we discovered that we had purchased a preconstruction contract with the Grand Miramar Club and Spa. A computer search provided the following website:

Luckily, it was discovered that a scam was in play before the final payment was made. Perhaps this post will protect others!

  • Thank you for posting this. we were in Puerto Vallarta in January and went to one of the talks at the Mango Restaurant.. against better judgement we bought a 'forclosed' property through World Luxury Vacations. They said that they would buy our timeshares back and we would not have to pay any more for those weeks. That night , I had buyers remorse and went back immediately the next day to cancel. We talked with the 'Attorney' from World Luxury Vacations, and took advantage of our 5 day right of recission. He did give us a letter that said we cancelled and would get our money back. We finally got our money back a day ago, but it took numerous calls and alot of frustration. I hope this helps anyone who has signed up for this... we never did find out if anyone has had a good experience with this company and would love to hear if they have. We can not believe that this many people at one company all can be dishonest.. please update if anyone has gotten this to work...

  • These guys are crooks, you were lucky to get your money back. We are still trying and Citicard hasn't been very helpful. We also notified them that we wanted to cancel. Perhaps you were the person my husband ran into on the bus New Years week that was going back for his money.

  • i just got back from there they run my credit card to see if i have funds to buy after i look the contracts and i figure out that they only selling membership and have different company to do the resale i said no. They told that by a mistake they run the credit card and i have to sing the receipts so they can give me the refund on my credit card (my fault i didnt think they will be so crooked ) i did and insted of refund they give me a letter with promise to get 100% of proseeds of the resale after i raise hell they change the letter to the 8000 (that they took)but in 30 days sing by a legal rep with name jon manty or something. I knew that or i will have to get into a fight in there or i had to found a mexican lawyer by asking around someone told me about the mexican tourist department (they locate accross the broad walk exactly accross the open theater) they were real helpful and they must have some power against the timeshares shark cause the next day they call me and i took a receipt and 3 legal letters this time with the correct owners name alex diaz .By law you have 5 bussiness days to get out of any transaction (including the ones that the sharks dont even have a sing contract). THEY WILL TRY TO DELAY YOU CAUSE AFTER 5 DAYS THEY WILL TAKE THEIR COMMISSION ,and of course the so called "company" they working for will never help you to take your money I HOPE SOMEONE TO READ THIS BEFORE LEAVE FROM MEXICO AND GO OPEN A COMPLAIN with THE TOURIST DEPARTMENT or tourist police

  • I think what helped us, was we had the signed letter from their attorney. I also got ahold of the Supervisor at the 'closing room'. here is her email address: [email protected] and their phone number: Toll Free 1 800 920 9804 USA/ CAN

I literally called and emailed every day and pestered them until I finally got the money back. Again, I am not sure the recourse if you didn't get something signed during the 5-day right of rescission. Good luck... I hope you are successful.. I just don't get how these people work for a place like this and can sleep at night!!
