I won a free visit from the January 2011 Bridal fair. The sales rep called me to set up a time to join a class to see if it was something I was interested in. When setting up he stated that I had to give a cc over the phone. This was in case I did not show or give a 24hr notice of cancel they would charge my card for the visit. I was told they do not keep the card information after my appointment. I made the class and was given a sales pitch at the end. I was told I need to initial the plan I would pick and sign the liability and agreement waiver. This process was very rushed as it was the last class and everyone was trying to leave. This took less than 5 minutes. I could then take it home to talk it over with my husband. I was told I had 2 days to respond or they would fill my spot. I spoke with my husband and due to the cost and current injuries that limit my activities we decided against it. I called the next day and spoke with the sales lady to advise. She said she was sorry to hear that. I figured that it was over to find out the next month they charged my account. When I called the sales lady said that there was nothing she could do. It took me calling two more times to get her to give me an email address to the billing person, who also responded that there was nothing she could do as I signed a contract. When they forwarded me a copy of this so called contract they had written in the deduction date and amount and stated they collected my card details over the phone. This was the information I gave to make my first appointment and was told they do not keep then info and would be deleted. I never authorized it to be used again and made it very clear that I did not want to join. I am still being charged and can not seem to find a way out of this as when I call I get no where. They all keep telling me there is nothing that they can do. This is horrible business practice and should be stopped.

  • This person was charged because they signed a one year membership agreement. They were fully aware of the terms and conditions of said agreement. No business in their right mind would "charge a card" based solely on a phone conversation and not a printed, signed document.
