saw a "newswatch9" link that referenced the Grabswag site, purporting it to be one of the best on the net, and to sign up thru their link would get you 20 free bids.

went to the site, did not see the 20 free, but did see 10 free. put in my name, and desired user name, etc, then it went to a second page, entered cc info, and immediately was charged 99.00.

i could not locate any info on the grabswag website as to how to contact them, so i google'd them, and got their phone number of (888) 467-4217.

i called, and then spent the next 15 minutes telling the lady my story, and it was not what i wanted, and i wanted to reverse this as it was a mistake.

she did everything in her power to try to convince me to stay, "it's such a great site", "i can offer you a 20.00 instant rebate keep your bids", i can offer you a 50.00 instant rebate to your bank account keep your bids plus 25 more" etc.. the more i insisted that i wanted to cancel, the harder she tried to convince me to "give it a try, I'll love it" and the more i resisted.

she finally put me on hold, to go talk to her 'supervisor', after about a 3 minute wait she came back and said that her supervisor approved my cancellation, but it will take up to 5 business days for me to get my refund.

5 business days, after offering me 50.00 of it back as an instant rebate to my account if i had chosen to stay..

i thought i was more careful than this, but now they have my 99.00 for the next 5 days, and i don't.

  • this comes from you 17 days after i get 99.00 taken from my account?
    no, i am currently NOT a "valid customer", nor will i ever be.

    it is shady business practices such as this that caused me to file this report, i also filed a fraud report with my bank, and due to your unauthorized transaction against my account, my back did refund me not only the original 99.00, but also an additional 140 in NSF charges that was incurred directly from your actions of pulling the funds from my account.

    as you, i, and everyone else knows, no bank will return NSF charges unless they too see the fraud that was committed against one of their customers, namely ME, and if you truly think that there is a chance in hell that i would EVER consider doing business with your company, after all this, then you are sadly mistaken, and should seek counseling.

    please read my first post, and take that, combined with this, as my feedback.
