I received a card for water analysis some 2 weeks ago who seems to be an official service.
Yesterday, at 2 PM, I received a call asking me if the TECHNICIAN, who was in the area could drop at 3 PM. I accepted.
The so-called technician show up at 3 PM and started testing the water which was, as we suspected, not very clean.
Then he told me that a reversed osmosis system (ERO-375) would cost 2,495.00 plus 250.00 for installation.
As I refused, he stated calling several people of his mobile and, with a triumphant face came back and told me that he located a unit which has been in an expostion and which could made available this very afternoon for a final price, installation included of 1,635.00. The discount was looking interesting and I failed in the trap! I accepted and at 4 PM the plumber of EQA came in and installed the system.
Installation done he said that the "salesman told him that I should extend a check for 1,635.00". This raised my curiosity and when he left with my check on Northern Trust for the full amount No. 194 drawn on the checking account of my dormant company: Magnitude Inc. a Floridian one, I went to check on internet and found out that
the real retail price of the system was 675.00 and therefore the so-called price of 2,495.00 has been a MISPRESENTATION.
The attached scanners of it done twice with2 different pictures definitions shows that the salesman cancelled the price of 2,495.00 and wrote instead, 1,635.00.
There are cheaper systems but he sheet Ecowater ERO-375 information from Consumer Reports (consumerreports.org/cro/home-garden/.../ecowater-ero-375-99028894.htm) shows that the approximate retail price is 675.00 and in no way 2,495.00.
Due to Tanksgiving, I will send tomorrow a registered letter to E.Q.A. calling for being reimbursed of the 710.00 difference.
However, I do feel that such misrepresentations are harmful.
