I used to work for the answering service that contracted with FreeShipping.com and used us to answer their phone calls. We were not based in Connecticut, we were in both Portland, Maine and Anaheim, California. I sat through the website demo myself and argued with these people that I knew what they were doing was wrong--even REFUSED to take FreeShipping phone calls--but they made us, or else we were to be discharged from the answering service. When customers demanded their money back, we had to refuse it, saying that they had agreed to the "terms and conditions". Whatever. People, call the 800 number and tell them you're going to dispute it with your credit card company or your bank or file with the BBB because it's the only way they'll give you a refund. And I hear there is a class action case being worked on against these people---yahoo!
