I received a call from one Brian Williams, who said he was with the U.S. Treasury Department and that I was selected for a federal grant in the amount of $7,700.00. He had a telephone number 1-202-470-1238. He said that before the money could be released, I was to send $210.00 by Western Union to a Pra Kash in Delhi, India, for the purpose of a charity. I was to receive a call within hours to pick up the grant money at a nearby Western Union office. Instead, the next day, I received a call from a David Jones, who said he was with the Federal Reserve Bank, and had a telephone number (202) 621-0089. He wanted $350.00 more, supposedly for the charity. Then, he said, I could pick up the money. I scraped up $350.00 more. However, the money never came. I received a called from someone named Robert, who said that he was with the Internal Revenue Service, and he had a telephone number (646) 736-7991. He asked for more money, first $350.00 and then $150.00. He became rude when I said that I was suspicious of this whole thing. When I tried to call either Bryan Williams or David Jones, they either became rude or would not answer.
