I am in another state but received a phone call that left a voicemail stating that my local sheriff had a warrant for my arrest. The call stated that Attorney Sam Wilson's office was notifying me of my impending arrest. I returned the call and it was answered by attorney Sam Wilson. He definitely had an accent that denoted his primary language was that if one other than English. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he told me no. I then asked the name of the company that he represented and he stated Cash Advance of America. I then asked him what the arrest charges were for and he replied that it was in regards to financial fraud. I then questioned his identity. He became irate and then recited a previous address of where the authorities would shortly arrest me. I told him that I would like to contact my lock sheriffs to corroborate the claim for an arrest warrant. The line then became silent for several moments before I ended the call. I then contacted my local sheriffs and they immediately alerted me that it was some sort of a scam. Two hours later, I answered a call from the same number with the same prerecorded message that I was to be arrested and that I needed to call the return number. Again, when I was asked for my address and failed to give it, I was told that the authorities would be at my residence to arrest me within 30 minutes. Again I refused to give out my address and was then hung up on. I reported it again to my local authorities and it was recommended to block the number and file a complaint with the attorney general. This is harassment. Plain and simple.
