JC Penny Gift Wrap scam
Complaint 341957 Details

I was emailed a job offer from JcPenny for a gift wrapping job. Everything looked legal. They had a jcpenny job application, hr department, store number, and telephone number. Then they said the job was taken and forwarded me to a different company. Here is the first email:

We have an opening for a gift wrapper associate (full-time and part-time). Please let me know if you're interested.

The second email:
Unfortunately the position of Gift Wrap Associate at your local
jcpenney store is closed. I have found a similar position opening from one of
our partners you may be interested in. Their company handles the Rakuten.com
marketplace orders. Some orders include a gift wrapping option. I have attached
some email messages to learn more about the company and offered position. They
have one position opening in your state. You are pre-approved for their offer
and can start a job within a week.

I became suspicious at this point but however they do know my address and phone number at this time from filling out the application before.
