I contracted Ricardo Freixo (AKA Ricardo Valfreixo) to carry out some PHP development. We agreed a fee of £1,500 (2360 USD) for the entire scope of work based on his quote and his ability to deliver according to a very tight deadline.
I paid Ricardo Freixo a deposit for the work to begin. During the first few weeks he informed me he was about to lose his home and needed more money to pay a deposit or be homeless - I was desperate to hit deadline and not given a choice, agreed to pay him in full over two more installments.
Ricardo Freixo missed the deadline by quite some way and when he delivered, the work was about 10% complete and next to useless. After a lot of discussion, it was clear he was unprepared to fix the work and he agreed to give me back a full refund!
Ricardo Freixo (AKA Ricardo Valfreixo) has never paid me back and no longer communicates with me or my debt collecting agency. I am about to take him to small claims court in Scotland!
