They sent me completely the wrong item.
The consequent email exchange started really well: they asked me for a photo and said not to worry - if it was their fault they would sort it.
When they received the photo they acknowledged their error, apologised and offered that I keep the erroneous item, because returning it would take time and be very costly to me and also offered me a compromise, offering to send me new parcel on condition that I paid another delivery fee of $20. I accepted.
Then they replied saying I had to return the item to them, urged me to pay insurance and also pay new delivery fee to re-ship the correct item. They also discouraged me from doing this because it is a costly and time-consuming process, so suggested I should either re-sell the item or give it as a gift to a friend.
I kept referring back to their first email, saying that they should honour their original resolution and that I should not be penalised for their error. I also said that if they did not have the correct item in stock they should have informed me before taking my money. They no longer respond and this is outrageous.
THEY SHOULD PAY FOR THEIR ERROR, NOT ME, but they won't.
What disturbs me is that they completely changed their proposed resolution within the same chain of emails.
I am going to tell my credit card company.
