My wife had found herself in a large credit card debt. She was looking for outside help so she could pay off the credit cards or at least manage them so she could pay them off. The interest rates that the credit card companies charge caught up with her. She contacted this Common Sense Group and they made it sound like her troubles were over. She sent them $500 to start the program (against my wishes). She thought she was safe as the company had a money back guarantee. A quote out of their literature says, "Money Back Guarantee-If you follow the plan you will save money, or we will refund the purchase price." This was back in July of this year. My wife was sent a DVD, workbook, worksheets, and was given a contact of one of their personal Credit Coaches. Part of the money back guarantee was that she was to have at least 3 sessions over the phone with her Credit Coach, her name was Darla. That was when the problems started. Everytime my wife had a phone appointment, Darla did not make that appointment. After months of run around, my wife found out that Darla had quit and she would have to start all over again with a new Credit Coach. The frustration built up and my wife called Marcus Lewis (877-371-7577 ext.534) the head director at Common Sense Group, and asked for her Guarantee refund. Marcus said he would not give her money back because she did not fulfill her obligations. I call Marcus on Friday October 3,2014 and also asked for my wifes money back. He said he would not return her money, and stated 3 reasons that she did not fulfill her contract with them. Number one, was that she did not return her contract, signed, back to them. Well, that means they do not have a valid signed contract with my wife. Number two, Marcus blamed my wife for not making the phone appointments, where is was the other way around. And I do not remember what the third reason he gave me. Well there it is, we are out $500.
