I ordered Driver Detective and when it was finished downloading a window opened saying I had to call this number 1-887-958-7560 and the "tech" told me that my computer was in a critical condition and in order to fix it he needed to take control of my computer. I can't believe I fell for this!!! I was told I was talking to Microsoft. Trusting Microsoft- I agreed to allow him .to fix my computer. I was to receive all sorts of services for 7 years and also free calls to Microsoft techs for 7 years.The charges were discounted to $349.00.But if I added a second computer for an additional $300.00 these services would have a lifetime warranty. I was transferred to the "financial" department. The man that took over the conversation manipulated me and badgered me to upgrade to cover my second computer the total cost was $649.00. I have Multiple Sclerosis and I have cognitive problems. At times I have trouble thinking rationally. Everyone I spoke with had an accent that was difficult for me to understand.I asked more than once to repeat what they said.I was so confused and thought the only way to have my computer working properly was to pay this ransom fee.I called back immediately to cancel the second computer and was told they would credit my account for $300.00.But my warranty would now be for only one year and my calls to Microsoft would only be 2 weeks. My husband was sitting in the room with me and after seeing how upset I was he called them back and spoke to the manager to cancel all services and credit the full amount of $649.00. The manager asked him why we didn't want the services and my husband said they deceived me about the warranties. Why did the warranty drop to one year when just a few minutes ago it was for 7 years? I have the note that the tech typed out explaining the services.

They said they would credit the account within 10 to 15 days and they would call us within 2 days to confirm what was agreed to. I thought I should add my name to the ever growing number of people being scammed by Avangate. If there is anything you can do to help me I would very much appreciate it.
