Signed up for the 5 day trial for Sidetick TV from their website. After just 3 days, it was quite apparent to me that it wasn't for me. Other sources, such as Netflix and Hulu, offer better services, streaming speeds, and overall quality at cheaper cheaper prices than Sidetick. So, I logged into my account subscription, clicked cancel, verified, and was told that my cancellation was being process. Then today, I get my credit card statement and lo and behold, there is a charge for $49.95, for a six month subscription to Sidetick, charged just 3 days after I had confirmed my cancellation. So I go to my account page, now furious, and discover that, guess what, my account is still set to active!! I then click cancel again, and receive the same cancellation pending page as I had the day that I had first cancelled. So then it's off to the phones to talk to their customer care department. I started of civil - explained the situation, and kindly asked to have my money refunded and my account completely, officially cancelled. I was told that they had no record that I had ever tried to cancel (at this time I am staring at the page that said clearly that I had already tried to cancel and the previous cancellation was still being processed) So I relay this to the rep on the phone, to which she says, and I quote, "Now how am I supposed to verify that?" Calling me a liar? Really? As if I would go through this much trouble over 50 measly dollars if I wasn't telling the truth. I asked her to put me through to a manager. She stated that she was the manager (?since when do managers handle generic customer care calls?) So I said, great, refund my money and cancel my account. She said that she could not. The best she could do was CHARGE ME AGAIN for $1.99 for a one month subscription, which she said would downgrade my account and would refund approx $48 of the initial $49.95. Seriously?! So, I ask for her name, which she said was Ashley (yeah right.) I asked to have emailed confirmation sent to me of all that we had discussed, and then made sure that she understood that money is not the issue (I'm not lacking in that department) but that it was about the principal of the fact that her company STOLE from me, and then had the gall to say that I was lying, and there was nothing she (a manager?) could do. With that in mind, I was fully prepared to call my lawyer and would not stop until I had used the fullest extent of my power to expose, prosecute and crush her corporation. She suddenly changed her tone. Was very polite. She assured me I would have emailed confirmation and that my account had been cancelled, and my money would be refunded. Heh. Guess time will tell. For anyone else, save yourself the hassle and STAY AWAY FROM THE SIDETICK TV SCAM!

Update: 09/30/2014

Also this manager Ashley said that her screen showed that the $49.95 covered a 6 month subscription. However on my screen it only showed a 1 month sub. When I told her this, she said that I couldn't be seeing that.
