"Paul Wilson" decided to give Me a call from a California number 323-315-0033, saying that he was on a government - recorded line. The first thing I thought was "a Filipino accent working for the government?? Scam." But then I thought no, sometimes people with accents do work for the government. He verified the information I put online which was good. However, legitimate entities cannot repeat any personal information on their end, due to privacy reasons. So that was another flag. Then as he is talking, he gives me "his name" and "his number" (321-248-6162) to reach him back on. I place him on hold and call the number only to have a woman working for CPA answer with no clue of who "Paul Wilson" is.

I get back on the line with no response so I hang up. He called back and asked if i hung up ...I told him I was trying to call back. He then provided 321-248-6132. I called that number from My sister's 631 area code number.... no one answered. It kept ringing. Then he asked if I was calling from a different number. Then he said thats why the call was not answered. Thats weird. He said to call from my number. So i called from my 954 number then a "Jason" with the SAME Filipino accent answered sounding weird. I asked for 'Paul Wilson' then Paul came to the phone not wanting to stay on the current line. He wanted to get back on the original line before saying anything. Without announcement, he calls me from a California number then was comfortable speaking to me. I had to run to class and asked him to email what I needed to do because normally any issues I have with my school funding, I get notified via email to make the corrections online. He then sounded more aggressive and said that I HAVE to pay 3.87 on the phone with him right now. I said I'm not doing anything over the phone. Now he became short with me saying "well, thank you maam". Talking over me saying "no thank you" . This was totally a SCAM!!! I dodged a bullet. I never had to pay anything out of pocket for any grants, not even for my school loans!!!!
