I received a letter postage on the outside "Air Mail Royal Mail" the company letterhead of Citi Financial Financial Express Company of Mesquite, TX with a check issued by Willowbend Environmental Center for $2,837.00 drawn on Bank of America in Walnut Creek, CA. The letter stated that I had won 2nd prize in a USA, Canada and United Kingdom Departmental Stores promotion held 7/30/14. That I was entitled to that sum of $50,000.00 that enclosed was a check for $2,837.00 deducted from my prize winnings and I needed to pay a tax clearence fee of $980.00 to receive the remainder. To call Tax officer Grace Morgan and +44-751-628-8111 or I could call Paul Anderson or Julia Jones at 888-398-7209 for payment instructions. Because the envelope was posted from United Kingdom and the check issued from a business in Texas and the bank it was drawn on was from California it looked like a fraud. I did a search on bing and found it to be a scam that has been happening for many years. This needs to be stopped so people do not fall prey to this scam.
