I was laid off in May, filled out paperwork for RAC and was told that my benefits plus package would cover 4 months while I was on unemployment. I had to make payments until I received 4th unemployment check. So I paid up to July 26, which was date of 4th payment. Because it was an odd week, I didn't actually get that money until following week. I printed it out, took in to RAC. Now I am told it takes a week for them to make decision, it's unfortunate I had that extra week I had to wait to print off payment and it takes another week to have company actually cut check and start making payments. So now I owe up to august 23rd and need to make a payment by tomorrow or will lose my things (washer/dryer). That is not what the plan says nor what the manager told me. The staff at the local RAC have been great, but told me corporate makes the decisions.

There is no reason they can't back it up to the 4th payment of July 26. And no reason I should have to pay the two weeks it takes for them to screw around with paperwork and cutting checks.

I called corporate, told someone would call me back in 24 hours. This program is a scam, they make it almost impossible to keep your stuff, which I have paid on for 1.5 years already. I am scheduled for surgery in two weeks and have 4 kids who need things for back to school. I do not have that money in the bank, nor can I borrow it. It was a struggle to pay from May 16, when I lost job to July 26, which benefits should have kicked in.

I would recommend anyone getting the benefits plan to be cautious, it is not at all what it is advertised as.
