Elizabeth Collins and Wanda Tusing

I was desperate to find someone to relet/sublet to in order to get out of my lease and I guess this clouded my judgement along the way. I put an ad on Craigslist and 6 hours or so later an Elizabeth Collins contacted me saying she was interested in the room. She asked about the room and when she could move in--nothing suspicious yet, except for her grammar, but she said she was an international student who was going to do a program at the university I am attending this year, so I gave her a pass on the grammar (maybe English wasn't her first language). Eventually she told me that she wanted to mail me the check instead of to the apartment complex/off-campus dorm because her job wouldn't give her separate checks for her her flight ticket and rent. I was supposed to cash the check, pay for the first month rent, and then wire  the rest to her flight manager Wanda Tusing. Although the check I received was very realistic (it was a check from a law firm that actually exists, Clifford Chance in NY...I assume they don't know someone's using them for fraud??), I decided to get it checked at the bank. The bank informed me that it was a fraud and since then I have not messaged Elizabeth Collins again or informed her of what happened. I also posted a complaint with IC3 and the police, although the police didn't actually record anything since I didn't actually lose money.

I did some investigating and it seems the emails were sent from someone who lives on the west coast. However, Elizabeth claims to live to not live in the US, but the check was from North Carolina and her "boss/job" is in NY. Also, the phone number she keeps texting me with is 218-422-6707, which is a Wisconsin area code. Finally, this travel agent of hers, Wanda Tusing, wanted the money to be wired to 18 Liberty St. #4, Bloomville, Ohio 44818
