This is a safety recall for the ActiHeat Heated Car Seat Cover purchased through Brookstone for my 79-year old Mother. I responded to the recall notice sent out by Brookstone on May 10, 2011. The recall model #6HCSCBL24, BATCH #20910B was recalled. I submitted the fabric rear tag containing the model number and batch code and a sample of fabric cut from the seat as required. My recall number is 1022. I sent this to ActiVHEAT Seat Recall, c/o Atlas North PO Box 873, Woodbury, NJ 08096. Since then I have contacted the company three times, I did not record the first call but the did record the 2nd call (9/2/11 @ 12:10) and the 3rd call ( 9/25/11 @ 11:15) the standard answer was that someone would return my call during the week. No calls have been returned or voice messages left.

  • I am also having the same issue as you. I sent in my information 8 weeks ago and have no received my replacement product. I've called the 1-800 number provided with the recall documentation as well as Brookstone's customer service, both of which are completely useless. Today I called the 1-800 number again after Brookstone told me that's absolutely nothing they can do for me. The person I spoke with informed me that the company has informed them, the answering service, that the seat covers would START to ship out the 3rd week in December. I will NEVER purchase another Brookstone product again due to this ordeal.

  • I am also having the same issue. I've followed the same procedures, and am getting no response. I also, will NEVER purchase another Brookstone product.

  • I did the same thing over 2 months ago....Never heard anything from them. Has anyone contacted an attorney, or state's attorney for fraud?

  • I have not contacted an attorney at this point in time though some friends say it would be a good idea, quite honestly, I just don't have the financial resources or time. I suppose I will wait to see if what he person I spoke to said was true and that they'll be shipped out the 3rd week of December. If I don't have anything in my hands by mid-January I'll consider other routes to recoup the loss. Anyone else made any progress or would like the number to call to inquire (complain) let me know!
