I signed up with the college network back in the first year of 2010. I signed with them with the hopes of pursing my bachelors in Nursing. I spoke with a man from the college network who lined out all the classes that I needed to take. He told me that i can get a finance loan through South East Credit Union which wold not be a federal student loan. He said that it would cost me a little over 6,000 cause I had a lot of general education classes to complete. First of all I have very bad credit so I was surprised that they financed me the 6,000, which was about 267.00 monthly. The Guy from the college network never told me that I could not get out of my agreement with credit union.I never took any of the courses through the college network. After about 4 months in I had a financial hardship and had to stop the 267.00 monthly I wrote a letter to the credit union thinking It would be OK to stop my payments due to my hardship and due to the fact that I never ever accessed the courses from the college network website. they never told me that I had to pay no matter what. unfortunately 4 years later I have been sued for 13,000 my paycheck is being garnished 25%. I did get a lawyer but he said it was nothing that he could do. I'm a single mother with child that has a disibilty. I feel that the credit union and college network prey on people who are trying to further themselves. The bad thing about it is, the college network is not accredit by the California registered nursing board. So even if I would have taken the course I would not be able to get my license through California, that's another thing the college network doesn't tell people. There are so many many complaints against the college network, I really wished I would have read up on it before I signed. Can you please help me.
