The same thing happened to me and I should have gone online first to check. A man named Bradley Cooper called me and was trying to collect a debt that is no longer on my credit report - it was charged off i think? - it was also over 7 years old. He threatened that he was going to take me to court and that my bill was being tripled. So I paid $500 to get him to calm down, but the bill is gone? It is not on my credit report any longer? Do I still need to pay? If this is fraud they are so getting sued. Already reported them to the FCRA.
