VIP Readers talked me into a magazine subscription deal for $39 a month for 24 months. During their sales pitch I was assured that I COULD CANCEL AT ANY TIME IF I WAS NOT SATISFIED. When I recently contacted them to cancel, they responded "that it can only be reduced to $21 a month for 36 months, it is a contract and I am responsible to pay regardless". They have me recorded agreeing to this but mysteriously the part about being able to cancel at any time is not in the recording. The recording is only a fraction of the lengthy sales pitch. I certainly would have not agreed to pay for something if it wasn't worth it. I gave it time to check out the magazines they offer and have even swapped some of the magazines in hopes that would help. I am no longer working full time since I initially agreed to their offer, so my money is really tight and I need to cut out extra expenses. Seems they have me over a barrel and I'm stuck paying for something I don't want anymore.
