Miss Greene called about a 'civil suit' that the customer (me) needs to pay or he will be sued and/or his paycheck (social security) will be garnished. She was pleasant at first, said balance on bill was $1900+ and could payment be made today. Customer (me) called spouse - told her about it, gave her ph# and info. Spouse called - bill was an online payday loan, $350 I think - was two years ago and I don't remember. Spouse told her that we had NO MONEY at all (true) until 2/12/14. She asked how much could be paid monthly, I said $50.00- explained that $460 was taken out of my ss card acct without my authorization. Miss Greene was told that there was a pending dispute, and if the $460 was credited, it could be paid - but not $1900. She offered a settlement of $350.00, but payment had to be 'set up' with credit card or debit card on that very day. Spouse said no, Miss Greene called customer and harassed and scared him about arrest, etc. He told spouse to set it up. Spouse did. On 2/7/14, I was notified that dispute was denied. I was not getting the $460 credit on my card. Spouse Called Miss Greene, told her to stop process, not put through the payment on 2/12/14. She continued threats of lawsuit, garnishment, etc- and then she called me (customer) and said same threatening info to me. I told her to not do anything now, would talk to spouse. Spouse sent email to William Scudder who sent the original email to spouse and me with payment acceptance of $350.00. In this email spouse told him due to financial situation, DO NOT PUT PAYMENT THROUGH. On 2/12/14, nothing had been put through. On 2/13/14, spouse was paying bills using card and the $350 was taken out. Called Miss Greene, she was rude, lied that nobody told her not to do it. Asked for Mr. Scudder, she said not available. She was horrible to spouse on phone, said he owed the money, she did him a favor, etc. then hung up on spouse. 15 min later, spouse called back-asked for Miss Greene. I talked to her, she lied about everything, said she couldn't put the money back. Spouse called shortly after and asked for Mr. Scudder. He said he never got my email. Then he said he 'found it in his spam box'. He still refused to reverse it, said i owed the money, its been going on for 2 years (2 weeks actually)...He was nasty, rude, talked down to me and spouse, and said he was not going to put the funds back on the card. He was identified as the owner of the company, not sure if thats true or not. I never said I wouldnt pay it - I just needed to do it over time. Now I'm screwed until next month.
