I originally signed up for a $1 trial on the website socialsex.biz. I've been told now (after contacting the company) that it included a trial membership to some porn site, but I never agreed to any charges or membership to anything else. But apparently I was automatically charged $1 for that as well. I tried to cancel my membership at socialsex.biz, but there seems to be no way to do that through their site, and their help page has a purposely blank entry for that question. But I never saw any charges from the site, and figured it was not auto-renewed.
And then the holidays came, and I forgot about it. I noticed today that I had a charge from a company called Epoch.com, which I'd never heard of. I logged into their site and was able to pull up information showing that they had set up 2 recurring monthly charges. One for $29.95 to socialsex.biz, and another for $39.97 to videosz.com, which I had never heard of. So with my agreement to pay for a $1 trial weekend, they setup $70 per month in recurring charges to my account.
Perhaps not noticing this over the holidays and taking care of it sooner is partly on me, but they have now charged $210.76 of unauthorized charges on my account. I was able to chat with a customer service rep on epoch.com, who did cancel my accounts, and says that he posted a refund of $39.97 to my account. Even if that clears I'm still out $180 dollars from this scam website.
Also, the site is fake and filled with terribly run fake accounts that contact you repeatedly, especially the first week of your membership.
