I was approached by a person named "Desmond Barker" who said he represented a company named Island Healthcare Private Ltd.on 01/26/2014, offering me a job over the internet to be "Data Entry/Personal Assistant" to said "Desmond Barker". The interview was conducted via "Yahoo Messanger", and was conducted in a very peculiar manner. I explained that I already had a full time job, but they would accept me working 20-24 hours a week. After a few cursory questions, the interviewer stated:
"Before you start work you will receive a payment ,you will be using this payment to set up your mini office by purchasing accounting software plus the shipping logistics,cos we will be sending you some equipment you will be needing to start work with, immediately you get this payment you start work

The company will issue you a check to enable you purchase all the softwares and EQUIPMENTS you need to start work with..", and offered to send me a check for the amount of $2984 usd. After checking, and doing some internet sleuthing, I discovered the exact same scam, only under a different name. I informed this "Desmond Barker" that I believed that this was a scam, and would be turning the check he was to send over to the authorities. The check was sent USPS, and even had a tracking number, which I checked after I had informed this person that the "gig was up", and the check was re-routed to Bainbridge, GA. I have already informed by bank of this ploy, and told them to not cash the check, and take the appropriate steps with the authorities should this "check" attempt to be cashed in my name. I have also filed a complaint with the Postal Service as well.
