Ok, where to begin.
I vaguely recall signing up for a trial of Classmates.com several years ago. I have been unable to kill this ever since then.
I paid off and closed the credit account that kept getting pinged by Classmates.com four years ago. The following January, the account RE-OPENED when Classmates.com renewed itself. Note that there is no way to cancel your Classmates.com account without the account information, which I no longer have and can't get, because the email account tied to it no longer exists. Nor is there any phone number listed on the Classmates.com website, and emails go unanswered.
So...call to the credit card company, paid the 39.00 and closed the account again. Same process the following year, and the year after that.
Today, another year, another episode with Classmates and Chase. I called Chase and raised some hell. The account is closed AGAIN, they refunded my money this time, put a note on the account about the bs recurring fee, and sent a dispute letter to Classmates.com. We'll see how it goes this time.
Next step will be calls to lawyers and various state officials...I am SO pissed!
