Received an "invoice" from company YAPD, 41 Sharmerhorn Ste 885, Brooklyn NY 11201 claiming we placed a "basic" order on 05/19/2009 and then requested a "bold listing" on 11/22/2013. They use the Yellow Pages trademarked logo at the top of their "invoice" and have it laid out to appear as though it is a legitimate invoice. They even provided a Username and Password to "access your online account now" at www.ya-pd.com. It seems like they used old information found online to populate other fields of the "invoice" including the name of an office manager who left in 2008 and a phone number that has been disconnected since 2010. Bigger companies' Accounts Payable departments might fall for this, but we're small. Just a warning to others who get solicited - I can see we weren't the only ones recently.

- Yep...we just got the same one. My boss had me do a little research and I'm glad I stumbled across the rest of you. These guys are good...The got the name of our Assistant Director on the bill and when I searched our company name on their site, a somewhat detailed "advertisement" pops up...including our business type and a map of our location. Very similar to our actual Yellow Pages listing. Guess that's where they're getting their info and "leads"

Just got the same letter. Total Amount Due - $495.26
I wish I had the time and money to file a law suit against companies like this. The sad thing is that some larger companies don't review their bills and simply pay these bills which keeps these crooks in business. Glad to see that others like myself take the time to create posts like this for others to get information. -
