We switched our gas and electric from PSE&G to Palmco in 2012. Regrettably we have not been paying close attention to our bills. After getting a new HVAC system, I decided to take a closer look at our energy costs. I just compared what we paid Palmco vs what we would have paid PSE&G between Feb 2013 (the oldest bill I have) and Dec 2013 and discovered I have been ripped off by more than $1,200. During that period, PSE&G charged between 11 and 12 cents per kWH and 54 cents per Therm (and recently reduced that to 19 cents!). Palmco charged between 15 and 20 cents per kWH and between $1.06 and $1.21 per Therm; i.e., they charged roughly twice the price for gas and nearly as much for electric.
