Technician cold calls and tells you that your computers are infected with serious viruses and if not taken care of immediately the systems will crash and all information will be lost. They catch you off guard and intimidated you so that you give them permission to take over remote access to your computer. At that point they infect your computer with a myriad of viruses, plus they also access all your personal information as to date of birth, bank information, et al. They continue to call with additional threat warnings as to your computers instability and issue additional charges to fix the problem. Today technician said that obviously I was a senior citizen and was not understanding the severity of the computer issue - nice tactic to insult a possible customer. (by the way I taught beginning computers for 34 years). If you refuse, they then threaten to remove the microsoft protection that they have added to your computers. Today's call was to say that they were having trouble sendidng microsoft protection updates and if you did not give them access they would use your information and remove whatever protection they have added to your computers. Reason they can not add updates is that we had changed password information on our machines. We have since dealt directly with Microsoft for computer protection.
Don't let this company intimidate you and give them remote access! They are scammers!!!
